YOU ARE MY BELOVED SON

Writer: Nelson GacheruNelson Gacheru

Today as I was driving, The Holy Spirit whispered softly in my ear "You are my beloved son". Immediately, I was quickened to remember when Christ was declared The Son of God. See, He had not done anything to deserve it, but He was the Son nonetheless.

God has called us His Children, whereas this has been used to solicit emotions. However, when God says this to Jesus Christ and to man, He said it, not to solicit emotions but to solicit a lifestyle and a reality. It is not for fun nor for information that we are the children of God. It is the truth! Therefore, that you are royalty, there is a conduct and an access that we now have.

What makes God sometimes grieved is not so much you and I living imperfect; but you living common. Holy means set apart/uncommon. God has called you to be uncommon as he is uncommon, because the life you live and carry is the same life God has, because it is his life.

Therefore it is unfair for him to give you an uncommon life, only for you to live it in a common way.

See, in the story of Jesus calming the storm in Luke 8:22-25; Jesus was in the boat that was in the storm....Obviously :-)

But I want you to see something interesting; Because He Knew who he was and what he had access to as a son, He slept in the storm while the commoners did the common thing, that is, to complain and be afraid.

When the Son woke up, he didn't respond to what was happening but what he had as the son. Now, He was rebuked by a commoner named Peter who asked him "Don't you care if we perish". Can you see something? The commoner always knows it's fleeting and unstable like the boat but the uncommon doesn't need the boat, a physical mechanism or occurrence to be stable; He is stable in his identity.

My desire is that we all solicit the uncommon lifestyle of a Son and walk in the reality that we are Sons of God, set apart for reigning on the earth!

Thank you so much for taking your time to read this blogpost! God bless you!

Cheers,

Nelson G!
